Williams Advanced Engineering are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller. This is a key role that will take ownership of the monthly accounting processes, statutory reporting and interaction with the auditors for the business and its wholly owned subsidiaries. The role will provide technical accounting expertise whilst supporting the Financial Controller with tax and treasury matters.
The successful individual will co-ordinate and manage the month end close process for all entities ensuring the timetable is adhered to and all month-end actions are completed accurately and on a timely basis. They will take ownership for and manage the annual and half year audit process ensuring that audit information is delivered on time and procedures are managed efficiently.
Key activities also include the preparation and delivery of all statutory reporting, support to the Financial Controller with tax and treasury activities and ownership of technical accounting matters; specifically the maintenance and development of key financial systems (including Microsoft Dynamics AX) and management of the General Ledger.
We are seeking a Qualified Accountant with an excellent academic record. You will have demonstrable technical accounting expertise, ideally with previous experience of project revenue recognition, production accounting and stock.
Experience preparing external reporting including statutory financial statements and management of tax matters (including but not limited to corporation tax, domestic and foreign VAT, WHT, RDEC) is essential. Some knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX is preferable although not essential. Advanced Excel skills, with Power BI experience is desirable.

You will have excellent communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-Finance colleague and will be content to work autonomously taking ownership for Finance issues. The successful individual will be tenacious, reliable with a flexible attitude.
